Alex hails from the Dominican Republic, where he was raised to the tune of the Encyclopedia Britannica and Star Wars. He came to the United States when he was 17 lured by the world he saw depicted in Ferris Bueller’s Day Off. Since then he has had ample time to change his mind about America.
He currently resides inside a matchbox in the city of Charlottesville with his wife Laurell. He is on the last leg of his doctoral journey at the University of Virginia’s English Department. He has two sons, the big one and the small one.
